Charity: Vale Landscape Heritage Trust
We are a wildlife and local heritage conservation charity, operating across the Vale of Evesham, and Pershore (Worcestershire). Founded in 1999 we work with local partners to successfully deliver conservation projects, specialising in orchards and grasslands. We help mitigate against the dramatic loss of these key habitats which were once iconic and vital parts of the Vale’s landscape. We do this by acquiring, restoring, and connecting these valuable habitats, sensitively managing them with the support of our volunteers to create a living legacy to benefit wildlife and people. We also attend local and national level events, engaging with communities to help people better understand the wildlife and heritage around them. Without the work we do, the Vale would have lost a significant part of its living heritage, sites that not only link it to its fruit growing past, but those that are home to endangered and high priority species, such as the Noble Chafer (Gnorimus nobilis), Grizzled Skipper (Pyrgus malvae), and Avocet (Recurvirostra avosetta).
