Charity: Elkans Light Charity
Elkan’s Light is a UK charity founded by Joy and Daniel after the preventable death of their son, Elkan, who was born and died on 1 September 2025. Built on documented proof that there were missed opportunities in his care, the charity exists to stop other families facing the same failures and to support those who already have. Elkan’s Light focuses on three linked areas: helping women and families, especially those with LLETZ history and from Black, Asian and deprived communities, to understand their risks and speak up in maternity care; working with health systems to close the gap between guidelines and what actually happens; and providing whole‑family support and coaching so parents, partners, siblings and grandparents can begin to rebuild life after loss.
