Charities
BANA - (British Acoustic Neuroma Association), is a national charity which supports patients and their support networks affected by Acoustic Neuromas. Our mission is to support people to help themselves after diagnosis. We offer a number of services, including area support groups, a quarterly magazine, member only network forums, information sheets and an up to date website. We listen to our members and strive to offer new services in line with their needs. We support innovative research into acoustic neuromas so that, one day, a diagnosis will no longer be the life changing event it is now.
Barnabus is a Christian Homeless Charity, providing a lifeline to people experiencing homelessness in Manchester for over 25 years. On average, each month we support approx 600 people seeking help at our Beacon Support Centre and our support office. Homelessness in our City is sadly an all too visible problem. We offer help with accommodation, rehabilitation, practical support, healthcare and links to employment opportunities. We also offer a range volunteering opportunities including peer mentoring to build confidence, skills and wellbeing. We are passionate about helping rough sleepers and people experiencing homelessness in our city; it’s our privilege to help them realise their hopes and dreams for new and positive futures. We can only do this when amazing people like you offer your support; volunteering, fundraising, practical donations, pro-bono support or monthly donations.
Barnardo's is the UKs largest childrens charity, working with over 90,000 children, young people and their families in more than 300 projects nationwide.
We are the leading National NGO solely devoted to the conservation of bats and the landscapes on which they rely. Bats are unique and play a vital role in our environment but during the last century bat populations suffered severe declines. We are working to secure the future of bats in our ever changing world by tackling the threats to bats, from persecution to loss of roosts and changing land use. Since 1991 the Bat Conservation Trust has run a diverse range of projects to conserve bat populations. We are part of one of the most successful conservation movements in the world, supported by a network of members, volunteers, academics and professionals. Bats are now protected by law in Europe, and in the UK some species may already be benefiting from the positive effects of conservation, but we have a long way to go to achieve our vision of a world rich in wildlife where bats and people thrive together.
Bath Preservation Trust (BPT) campaigns for and promotes the conservation, sustainable enhancement and celebration of the unique historic built environment and amenity, green setting and global contributions of the City of Bath as a World Heritage Site. At our heart are the principles of informed advocacy, learning for all, and the provision of authentic heritage experiences at our four museums, through partnership working and online. We believe Bath deserves excellence in design and contemporary sustainable development which is inclusive of all people, and improves social and economic opportunities without compromising our unparalleled built heritage and natural environment.
