Autism Independent UK helps to increase awareness of autism to the notice of all, together with well established and newly developed approaches in the diagnosis, assessment, education and treatment. The main goal is to improve the quality of life for persons with Autism, giving them a chance to take their rightful place within their local community where they can live, work and play.
We provide unique user-led services to over 600 families affected by autism across the UK. Our expectation is that people with autism can learn and develop to lead meaningful and fulfilled lives. We support this process every single day.
The Avro Heritage Museum preserves the legacy of Alliott Verdon-Roe and his company A.V. Roe & Co (Avro). Located on the former Woodford Aerodrome near Stockport in Cheshire, the site saw the production of famous aircraft including the Lancaster, Vulcan, Nimrod and BAe 146. The Avro Heritage Museum is packed with fascinating exhibits and is home to the only example of an all-white Vulcan bomber. There are many activities on offer and things to do to keep all ages entertained. The Museum has a café on site which offers light refreshments and fantastic views of the mighty Vulcan bomber as it stands proudly outside. The Museum is entirely self-funded, relying on admission fees as its main source of income and staffed by passionate volunteers, many of whom worked at Chadderton and Woodford.

We are a community transport company offering affordable, accessible transport for all abilities within Badenoch & Strathspey. We see transport as the enabler for vulnerable people to access vital life and health services and meet with others socially. Transport is the hub of what we do, but we also offer social inclusion activities, such as lunch and supper clubs, tea dances, befriending services, assisted shopping, community car scheme, support for visually impaired groups and a community link worker service. Our ultimate aim is to reduce social isolation and loneliness by helping people make and maintain social connections and participate in their community.
