For many families BREAK is a lifeline. Every year we provide holidays and respite care for more than 1,000 children and adults with disabilities at our specialist centres. While our guests enjoy a seaside holiday, their parents and carers benefit from a much-needed rest. BREAK is special because we provide quality care and give our guests a great holiday where the focus is firmly on fun. The charity also provides a range of other care services - including children's homes, day care for adults and a residential family assessment unit.

Our Young Adult, ‘Inside Out’, Community Empowerment Services offers support and interventions for individuals and families associated with serious violence, criminality, negative lifestyle choices/ activities aligned to certain postcodes or group affiliations. Our staff team are culturally competent, with lived experience and trauma informed training (Delivered by Barnardo’s). They also use the approved Justice Star approach (Triangle Consulting Social Enterprise- (www.outcomesstar.org.uk) which offers tools to support individuals and families towards desistance. We acknowledge that some service users who are referred may require counselling, trauma, or therapeutic support because of certain lifestyle choices, or incidents. Consequently, we work in partnership with individuals and organisations who will provide this service. It is therefore important from the outset of each referral that conversations are had between the key personnel associated with the service user, regarding any risk, needs, challenges or concerns that may impact on possible interventions and support plans.
